	A Program for New Home Owners The Housing Partnership understands that first-time homebuyers often face a myriad of issues and challenges during their first years of homeownership and beyond.

	Issues surrounding home maintenance, insurance, taxes, and other financial concerns can be overwhelming to new homeowners. Challenges include painting, decorating, and hiring a contractor, to name a few. Home$mart is there to assist homeowners in successfully navigating these concerns and maintaining their valuable new asset.

Home$mart is currently presented on a quarterly basis, one evening a month, from 6-9 p.m.

Beginning in the third quarter 2008, the Housing Partnership will offer monthly Home$mart workshops, focusing on such important topics as:

Your finances as a new home owner
Home equity, refinancing, foreclosure prevention
Record keeping: warranties
Tool identification
Home Maintenance – use of tools, minor plumbing, tile installation, spacklng and painting, changing locks, power tool demonstrations
How to hire a contractor
Home decorating
Seasonal maintenance
Getting to know your community resources
